Today I have a great tip for you–how to cut grape tomatoes quickly and easily! {Plus a to-die-for recipe that just happens to need grape tomato halves!} With this simple method I can cut a dry pint of grape tomatoes in less than a minute!
All you need are tomatoes {or grapes or olives or any small, soft food you want to cut in half}, 2 lids {from same-size tupperware, sour cream, etc…I use plastic jam container lids}, and a sharp knife {I find a good bread knife works great for this trick}.Place the tomatoes on one of the lids, making sure the lip of the lid is facing up to hold the tomatoes together.
Place the other lid, lip down, over the tomatoes. They should stay securely between the lids.
Press firmly on the top lid to hold the tomatoes in place (but not hard enough to smash them) and cut the the tomatoes between the lids. In just a few seconds, they will all be evenly cut in half!
Now that you have all your beautiful grape tomatoes cut in half, Bite of Delight is sharing a delicious recipe with us to use them in a flavorful and EASY one post pasta dish. This entire meal can be ready in less than 20 minutes…perfect for those busy nights! Using fresh ingredients from your garden doesn’t hurt either!
